Mac Benning – Banjoist, Songwriter, and Performer

Mac Benning is a dynamic banjoist, songwriter, and vocalist based full-time in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. Known for his versatility across genres, he is deeply rooted in bluegrass while also incorporating elements of country, jazz, and progressive string band music into his playing.

Originally from Atlanta, GA, with deep Southern roots, Mac discovered the banjo in his late teens and has spent the better part of a decade honing his craft. He was a founding member of Lookout Mountain Showdown and previously played with Red Hill Rollers, a Carbondale-based band blending traditional and modern bluegrass influences. In addition to his work in bluegrass, Mac also performs with Party Party, a high-energy pop band that brings a fresh, genre-blending sound to the stage.

Mac's newest album is set for release soon, showcasing his distinct style and musical evolution. Whether on stage or in the studio, his playing reflects a passion for innovation while staying true to the rich traditions of the banjo.
